Hong Kong-based decentralized collaboration network, Zeek, has successfully raised $3 million in seed funding from investors including OKX Ventures, Animoca Brands, and Mask Network. The funding round comes ahead of Zeek’s official launch in July. The platform aims to revolutionize social collaboration in the emerging field of SocialFi by implementing reputation mechanisms.
Zeek operates as a social network that leverages the OpenSocial Protocol to enable users to unlock the value of their intelligence, network, access, and time through on-chain social bounty mechanics and reputation. Users can create and participate in “Wishes,” which serve various purposes such as seeking information, insights, expanding connections, and networking. By contributing and engaging in the network, users can earn “Rizz,” which establishes a social reputation layer and acts as an on-chain recognition of the value they create.
The concept of “Rizz” embodies the principle of karma, where users are rewarded with economic incentives and measurable influence based on their contributions. Zeek’s product and token are designed to facilitate collaboration and the construction of on-chain reputation.
One of the key advantages of Zeek is its ability to provide users with a reliable way to assess the trustworthiness of individuals based on their built reputation. This feature addresses the challenge of establishing trust in the Web3 world, where users are required to conduct due diligence before trusting others or any information they come across.
Zeek is set to launch officially in July, with a Private Beta currently running until the launch date. Interested users can pre-register through their X and Discord accounts. Additionally, Zeek will be releasing its Tier-0 Genesis NFT collection, limited to 250, later this month.
