Moonbeam Network Unveils Ambitious 2024 Roadmap: 8x Throughput Boost, zkAuth for Web2 ID, Major Grants
Moonbeam Network, a platform for creating interconnected applications across different blockchains, has introduced the ‘Moonrise’ initiative with a comprehensive 2024 Product Roadmap. The roadmap outlines plans to implement parallel processing to enhance throughput by 8 times, upgrade ecosystem integration, enhance developer and user experiences, and more. This initiative marks a new chapter in the evolution of Moonbeam and its canary network Moonriver, which will incorporate Axelar bridging technology.
Since its mainnet launch in January 2022, Moonbeam has become a leading solution for integrating networks like Polkadot, Ethereum, and other EVM ecosystems. The 2024 Roadmap showcases Moonbeam’s commitment to continuously enhancing its performance and user experience.
The Moonrise initiative is accompanied by a complete rebranding of Moonbeam’s identity, highlighting its role as a hub for developers, Web3 enthusiasts, and supporters of interoperability.
Aaron Evans, Head of Operations at Moonbeam Foundation, expressed excitement about the new look and ambitious plans for 2024. He emphasized the network’s dedication to ongoing improvements and innovations that set it apart from other networks still in the testing phase.
A key feature of the 2024 Roadmap is the introduction of asynchronous backing to the core protocol, enabling parallel processing that will quadruple block space and reduce block times to 6 seconds, resulting in an 8x increase in overall throughput for Moonbeam.
Additional enhancements include ensuring compatibility with Ethereum’s gas-saving Dencun upgrade, significant improvements to the UX of Moonbeam Routed Liquidity, and governance mechanism enhancements.
Key highlights of the roadmap include ecosystem integration with Glacis and Tanssi, revitalization of Moonriver with Axelar’s Amplifier program, developer tools like governance tracks for dApps and support for EIP-4337 Account Abstraction, and improved user experience with the Zero Knowledge Initiative (zkAuth) for Web2 authentication and streamlined stablecoin flows.
These initiatives will be rolled out progressively throughout 2024 and into 2025. To stay updated on Moonbeam’s developments, visit their new website at https://moonbeam.network.
