Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT collection has experienced a significant decline in value. According to a recent report, some Apes have plummeted nearly 100%. For instance, Bored Ape #8817, which was previously sold for $4.4 million, is now worth only $103,000.

Here are the top 5 biggest losers in the value of the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFTs:

1. Bored Ape #5199 – 97.3% decrease
Machi Big Brother, an avid NFT collector, has suffered one of the largest losses in BAYC value. He purchased Bored Ape #5199 for a staggering $1.6 million, but its current highest bid is only around $42,000. This represents a depreciation of 97.3%.

2. Bored Ape #8135 – 97.1% decrease
Bored Ape #8135, characterized by a trippy captain’s hat and a dagger in its mouth, was sold for $1,873,449. However, the current highest offer for this NFT is approximately $53,000. This marks a substantial 97.1% decrease in value.

3. Bored Ape #8817 – 97% decrease
Bored Ape #8817 holds the record for the highest-priced NFT in the BAYC collection, selling for an impressive $3,408,000 at a Sotheby’s auction. This NFT features the ape adorned with golden fur, a spinner hat, and a party blower in its mouth. However, it now commands a top offer of $103,002.25 on OpenSea, representing a significant 97% reduction in value.

4. Bored Ape #3749 – 96.4% decrease
Known as ‘The Captain,’ Bored Ape #3749 is the second most expensive NFT in the BAYC collection, previously sold for over $2,907 million. This NFT showcases an ape with distinctive gold fur, a limited rarity, donning a black t-shirt against a vibrant yellow backdrop, complete with a captain’s hat and laser-like beaming eyes. The current highest offer for this NFT is $103,498.20 on OpenSea, reflecting a substantial 96.4% price decrease.

5. Bored Ape #8585 – 96.4% decrease
Formerly valued at $2,702,462, Bored Ape #8585 ranks as the fourth most expensive item in the collection. It stands out with its pair of heart-shaped sunglasses and opulent crown. However, it currently has a highest bid of $95,464.80 on OpenSea, experiencing a significant 96.4% price drop.

With the decline in floor prices of major NFT collections in the current market, it’s not surprising that these Apes have lost their value and appeal.
