The hacker made a demand for a total of 120 Ether (ETH), which amounted to approximately $267,000 at the time, in exchange for returning the stolen NFTs. Boring Security took charge of a community effort to engage in negotiations with the hacker and effectively retrieved all the pilfered assets within a mere 24 hours after fulfilling the ransom payment. Greg Solano, co-founder of Yuga Labs, the innovative force behind the Bored Ape and Mutant Ape series, generously supplied the necessary funds for the ransom.
