CoinChapter.com presents the top cryptocurrency news of the day in a creatively re-expressed article. Here are the highlights:

1. Blast Token Airdrop Coming Next Week
Next week, Blast, a new Ethereum-based blockchain network, will be giving away free tokens to its users and developers. To be eligible, users must sign into their Blast account using their personal crypto wallet at least once. Developers, on the other hand, must distribute all their “Blast Gold” and “Blast Points” to users by June 25. The tokens will be split evenly between users and developers based on their account balance and activity on Blast-based apps.

2. BitFlyer to Buy FTX’s Japanese Branch
BitFlyer, a Japanese cryptocurrency exchange, plans to acquire FTX Japan. FTX Japan was previously part of the FTX trading platform that went bankrupt in 2022. The deal is expected to cost BitFlyer billions of yen and will enable FTX Japan to focus on managing and storing cryptocurrency for large investors. This acquisition will also help BitFlyer expand its business in Japan.

3. India Fines Binance for Breaking Money Laundering Rules
India has fined the cryptocurrency exchange Binance $2.25 million for operating in the country without following anti-money laundering rules. Binance was required to keep records of transactions and implement strong measures to prevent money laundering, but it failed to do so for its Indian customers. Although Binance has been approved to operate in India, it had to pay the fine to comply with the authorities.

4. Kenya Clears Worldcoin of Wrongdoing
Worldcoin, a project that combines cryptocurrency with digital identity, is no longer under investigation in Kenya. The project, co-founded by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, had been suspended in Kenya in 2023. The criminal investigation department in Kenya found no evidence of wrongdoing after investigating concerns about how Worldcoin collected and used personal data. However, officials advised Worldcoin to properly register and license its operations in Kenya and carefully vet its local partners.

5. Kraken and CertiK Dispute Over Exploited Funds
There is a disagreement between cryptocurrency exchange Kraken and security firm CertiK regarding missing funds. CertiK claims to have found a flaw in Kraken’s system and spent around $3 million to prove its existence, with the intention of returning the money as part of a “white hat” operation. However, Kraken alleges that CertiK did not fully return the funds. The situation has caused debate in the crypto community, with questions raised about why CertiK sent the funds through a service that mixes cryptocurrency transactions, making them harder to trace. Both companies are working to resolve the situation and clarify the confusion surrounding the missing funds.
